# Highcharts Map Integration - Installation Guide

## Required Dependencies

To use the Highcharts map in the National Sustainability Tab Pages, you need to install the following packages:

### 1. Install Highcharts and Angular Wrapper

```bash
npm install highcharts highcharts-angular --save
```

### 2. Verify Installation

After installation, your `package.json` should include:

```json
{
  "dependencies": {
    "highcharts": "^11.4.0",
    "highcharts-angular": "^4.0.0"
  }
}
```

## What's Been Implemented

### Files Modified:

1. **b2g/src/app/cengex/national-sustainability-tabpages/national-sustainability-tabpages.ts**
   - Added Highcharts imports
   - Added HttpClient for loading map topology
   - Added `initializeMap()` method
   - Added lat/lon coordinates to solarProjects data
   - Configured Highcharts options with custom tooltips

2. **b2g/src/app/cengex/national-sustainability-tabpages/national-sustainability-tabpages.html**
   - Replaced SVG map with Highcharts interactive map
   - Kept the legend section for consistency

## Features Implemented

✅ **Interactive Oman Map** - Zoom, pan, and explore
✅ **Solar Project Markers** - Color-coded by project
✅ **Custom Tooltips** - Show project details on hover
✅ **Responsive Design** - Works on all screen sizes
✅ **Real Coordinates** - Uses actual lat/lon for Oman locations
✅ **Professional Styling** - Matches your design system

## Map Data Source

The map uses Oman topology data from Highcharts CDN:
- URL: `https://code.highcharts.com/mapdata/countries/om/om-all.topo.json`
- No local file needed - loaded dynamically

## Project Data Structure

Each solar project now includes:

```typescript
{
  id: string,
  name: string,
  region: string,
  year: string,
  capacity: string,
  status: string,
  lat: number,      // Latitude coordinate
  lon: number,      // Longitude coordinate
  color: string     // Marker color
}
```

## Customization Options

### Change Map Colors

In `national-sustainability-tabpages.ts`, modify:

```typescript
series: [
  {
    type: 'map',
    borderColor: '#a0a0a0',    // Border color
    nullColor: '#e8e8e8',      // Base map color
    states: {
      hover: {
        color: '#d4d4d4'        // Hover color
      }
    }
  }
]
```

### Adjust Marker Size

Modify the marker radius in the data transformation:

```typescript
marker: {
  radius: 8,  // Change this value
  lineWidth: 2
}
```

### Change Tooltip Style

Update the tooltip configuration:

```typescript
tooltip: {
  backgroundColor: '#ffffff',
  borderColor: '#e5e7eb',
  borderRadius: 8,
  shadow: true
}
```

## Troubleshooting

### Map Not Showing?

1. Check browser console for errors
2. Verify Highcharts packages are installed
3. Ensure HttpClient is imported in the component
4. Check network tab for map topology loading

### Markers Not Appearing?

1. Verify lat/lon coordinates are correct
2. Check that solarProjects data has all required fields
3. Ensure map topology loaded successfully

### TypeScript Errors?

Add to `tsconfig.json` if needed:

```json
{
  "compilerOptions": {
    "allowSyntheticDefaultImports": true,
    "esModuleInterop": true
  }
}
```

## Alternative: Local Map File

If you prefer to host the map file locally:

1. Download: https://code.highcharts.com/mapdata/countries/om/om-all.topo.json
2. Save to: `b2g/src/assets/mapdata/om-all.topo.json`
3. Update the HTTP call:

```typescript
this.http.get('assets/mapdata/om-all.topo.json')
```

## Browser Support

- Chrome: ✅ Full support
- Firefox: ✅ Full support
- Safari: ✅ Full support
- Edge: ✅ Full support
- IE11: ⚠️ Requires polyfills
